Bedugul, June 30, 2024<\/b> \u2013 The Civil Engineering Student Association of Universitas Pendidikan Nasional (Undiknas) successfully held <\/span>Civil Engineering Social Action #1<\/b>, a social action program themed <\/span>“Sustainable Solutions: Smart Irrigation for Precision Agriculture.”<\/b> This theme was chosen as a response to global challenges, including the increasing demand for food due to population growth and the limited availability of clean water caused by climate change and overexploitation.<\/span><\/p>\n

The event took place in Pancasari Village, Bedugul, featuring various activities aimed at providing sustainable agricultural solutions. Below are the activities conducted during the program:<\/span><\/p>\n

Eco Enzyme Production<\/b><\/h3>\n

Under the guidance of <\/span>I Gede Rena Purdiasa<\/b> and his colleague, <\/span>Gede Supala<\/b>, participants learned the techniques for making Eco Enzyme, a fermented liquid derived from organic waste with multiple benefits such as enriching soil, repelling pests, and serving as a natural fertilizer.<\/span><\/p>\n

Trekking and Environmental Cleanup<\/b><\/h3>\n

Trekking activities were conducted to clean the Wiwanda Agrow area and Pancasari Village from plastic waste. Participants were divided into groups to enhance coordination and teamwork.<\/span><\/p>\n

Smart Farming Tools Creation<\/b><\/h3>\n

Participants and association members designed and installed a smart irrigation system using fertigation channels in the greenhouse at Wiwanda Agrow\u2019s vineyard. This activity was supervised by <\/span>Gede Adi Mustika<\/b> (CEO of Wiwanda Agrow) and <\/span>Ir. I Wayan Aditya Suranata, S.Kom., M.Kom<\/b>, an expert in smart irrigation technology.<\/span><\/p>\n

Sharing Session<\/b><\/h3>\n

The program concluded with a sharing session featuring <\/span>Gede Adi Mustika<\/b> and <\/span>Putu Winda Eristyana<\/b>, discussing the importance of Eco Enzyme and the implementation of modern farming systems at Wiwanda Agrow.<\/span><\/p>\n

Program Achievements<\/b><\/h3>\n

This initiative brought positive impacts to both students and the community. Below are the main achievements of the program:<\/span><\/p>\n

  • Application of Smart Irrigation Technology<\/b>
    \n<\/b>Civil Engineering students successfully designed and implemented a fertigation system that saves water usage while ensuring crops receive an adequate water supply.<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Increased Environmental Awareness<\/b>
    \n<\/b>Through Eco Enzyme production, the community was introduced to organic waste processing techniques that reduce household waste while creating natural fertilizer.<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Environmental Cleanup<\/b>
    \n<\/b>The trekking and cleanup activities collected plastic waste, raising awareness about the importance of maintaining a clean environment.<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Community Empowerment<\/b>
    \n<\/b>The program involved local communities, students, and practitioners working together to create sustainable solutions for agriculture and the environment.<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Student Skill Development<\/b>
    \n<\/b>Civil Engineering students had the opportunity to apply their technical knowledge in the field, enhance project management skills, and build strong teamwork.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Through this program, the Undiknas Civil Engineering Student Association not only contributed to the development of modern agricultural technology but also strengthened connections between students, communities, and practitioners.<\/span><\/p>\n

    “We hope this activity serves as a stepping stone toward broader sustainable solutions, especially in agriculture and environmental fields,” said one of the committee members.<\/span><\/p>\n

    This program aligns with several <\/span>Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)<\/b>, particularly <\/span>No Poverty, Zero Hunger,<\/b> and <\/span>Responsible Consumption and Production.<\/b> The application of smart irrigation technology and Eco Enzyme production supports water efficiency and waste management while conserving natural resources for future generations.<\/span><\/p>\n
