
11th Edition of the Undiknas Accounting Student Seminar: Exploring Ethics and Professionalism in a Sustainable Accounting Career
Denpasar, May 23, 2025 – The Student Association of the Accounting Study Program at Universitas Pendidikan Nasional (Undiknas) once again held its annual event titled the 11th Accounting Student Seminar, this time carrying the theme “Building a Sustainable Accounting Career: Ethics and Professionalism as Core Value.” The seminar took place at the Dwi Tunggal Auditorium of Undiknas and was attended by students from various study programs within the university, especially from the Accounting program.
Featuring two distinguished speakers in the field of accounting, the event served as both an educational forum and a moment of reflection for students in preparing for their future professional careers. The first speaker, Prof. Dr. I Nyoman Darmayasa, S.E., M.Ak., Ak., M.M., CPMA., CA., BKP, Asean CPA., CPA, is an academic and practitioner with extensive experience in the national accounting scene. The second speaker, Agus Fredy Maradona, S.E., M.S.A., Ph.D., Ak., CPA, is a lecturer at Undiknas who is also active as a professional in the fields of finance and accounting.
The seminar was moderated by Dr. I Gusti Ayu Agung Omika Dewi, S.E., M.S.A., Ak., CA., CSRA., Asean CPA, who skillfully guided the discussion on the importance of ethics and professionalism as the foundation for building a sustainable accounting career.
In their presentations, the speakers emphasized that strong technical skills must be accompanied by moral integrity and social responsibility. Amid globalization and technological advancements, accountants are expected to uphold public trust and adapt professionally and ethically.
According to Prof. Darmayasa, a career in accounting is not just about numbers, but also about the moral responsibility behind decisions that significantly impact organizations and society.
