
Undiknas Sends Off 936 Students for Community Service Program (KKN) and 16 Students for Field Work Practice (PKL) for the Odd Semester 2024/2025
Denpasar, January 13, 2025 ā Universitas Pendidikan Nasional (Undiknas) officially sent off 936 students to participate in the Community Service Program (KKN) and 16 students for Field Work Practice (PKL) for the odd semester of the 2024/2025 academic year. The send-off ceremony took place at the Undiknas Sports and Art Center, Denpasar Campus, and was led directly by the Rector of Undiknas, Prof. Dr. Ir. Nyoman Sri Subawa, S.T., S.Sos., M.M., IPM., ASEAN Eng., with the attendance of the Deputy Mayor of Denpasar, I Kadek Agus Arya Wibawa, S.E., M.M., as well as representatives from Undiknas’ partner institutions and companies.
Carrying the theme “Green Healthy Living,” this yearās KKN program focuses on promoting healthy and environmentally friendly lifestyles as a tangible contribution by students to the community. The theme aligns with efforts to support the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in the areas of environmental protection and community welfare.
In his address, the Rector of Undiknas emphasized the critical role of students in driving positive change within communities.
“KKN and PKL are opportunities for students to develop empathy, creativity, and social awareness. Through the Green Healthy Living theme, we hope our students can encourage communities to adopt healthier and more environmentally conscious lifestyles,” he stated.
This yearās KKN activities will be conducted across 43 sub-districts and villages in the Denpasar area, with four villagesāPemogan, Sesetan, Pedungan, and Peguyanganāhosting two groups of students each. The KKN participants will carry out various environmentally and community empowerment-based programs, including:

Urban Farming ā Encouraging communities to utilize limited land for farming to support local food security.

Digital Financial Literacy ā Educating the public on technology-based financial management to support MSMEs and the general community.

3R Waste Management Programs (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) ā Promoting eco-friendly waste management practices.

Environmentally Friendly MSMEs ā Assisting MSMEs in adopting sustainable business practices.

Use of Eco-Friendly Products ā Raising awareness about reducing plastic usage and transitioning to environmentally friendly alternatives.
Meanwhile, 16 PKL students will be placed in 10 of Undiknas’ partner companies to apply the theories they have learned in a professional work environment.
On this occasion, the Deputy Mayor of Denpasar, I Kadek Agus Arya Wibawa, expressed his appreciation for Undiknas’ commitment to supporting the sustainable development of the city. Prior to being deployed to the field, the students attended a preparatory session on January 11, 2025, aimed at strengthening their understanding of the programs they would implement. With this preparation, students are expected to adapt well to community environments and effectively execute their work programs.
The KKN and PKL programs will run for one and a half months, concluding on February 28, 2025. Students are expected to serve as catalysts for positive change in the community through initiatives that not only have immediate impacts but are also sustainable. This activity is a concrete demonstration that Undiknas, as a Techno-Researchpreneur University, is not only focused on academic development but also deeply committed to community empowerment and environmental sustainability.
