Accounting Education Fair Chapter 9: Preparing Future Accountants for the Era of Society 5.0

Denpasar – The Accounting Education Fair Chapter 9 (AEF #9), the largest annual program organized by the Accounting Student Association of the Faculty of Economics and Business at Universitas Pendidikan Nasional (Undiknas), took place on October 18, 2024. With the theme “Growing Together Creates an Accountant Who Grows in the Era of Society 5.0,” the event aimed to equip students with insights and skills relevant to the evolving demands of the modern digital economy.

The day’s events were packed with learning and competition, including the UNDIKNAS Accounting Competition Chapter 9 (UAC #9), a national high school accounting competition that ran from August 17 to September 17, 2024. There was also the Olympic of Accounting and Tax Chapter 9 (OCTA #9), a competition for vocational school students in Indonesia, which was held from August 18 to September 18, 2024.

One of the seminar’s highlights was the Talkshow Akuntansi Bicara Budaya Jilid 9 (ACARYA #9), featuring a discussion on the theme “The Role of Accounting Practitioners in Supporting the Development and Preservation of Cultural Heritage in the Context of Tourism.” This talkshow brought together speakers with diverse backgrounds and expertise, including Dwi Wahyuning Kristiansanti, S.Sn., M.Si.; Dr. Ni Luh Putu Sri Purnama Pradnyani, S.E., M.Si., Ak., CA., CSRS., CSRA.; and Dr. Gine Das Prena, S.E., M.Si., Ak., CA., CSRS., CSRA., CSP., CMA., CFMA., CAPM., CDM., CPA., CERA. The event was moderated by Ni Komang Tri Adi Mulya Wardani.

Held in the Dwi Tunggal Auditorium at Undiknas and accessible online via ZOOM, the Accounting Education Fair Chapter 9 provided an invaluable platform for students and professionals to engage in meaningful discussions on the evolving role of accountants in both preserving cultural heritage and adapting to the Society 5.0 era. The event demonstrated the importance of collaboration and growth as the field of accounting continues to evolve in response to societal changes and technological advancements.
