
Socialization of the Four Pillars with the MPR RI: Building National Character at Undiknas
Denpasar ā In an effort to strengthen the understanding of national values, Universitas Pendidikan Nasional (Undiknas) collaborated with the People’s Consultative Assembly of the Republic of Indonesia (MPR RI) to hold a Socialization of the Four Pillars of Nationality event. This activity aimed to instill fundamental values of national life and governance in students.
The four pillars discussed during the socialization included:

Pancasila as the foundation and ideology of the state

The 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia as the nationās constitution

The Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI) as the form of the state

Bhinneka Tunggal Ika (Unity in Diversity) as the nationās unifying motto
The event featured I Komang Mertajiwa, S.E., a member of the Regional Representative Council (DPD RI), as the keynote speaker, who provided an in-depth discussion on how the values of the Four Pillars can be implemented in everyday life, particularly among students as the nation’s future generation.
The session was attended by students from various faculties within Undiknas, who enthusiastically participated in the discussions and Q&A sessions about applying national values in academic and social life.
Also present at the event were Dr. Drs. I Nyoman Subanda, M.Si., Vice Rector for Partnership and Entrepreneurship, Dr. AAA. Ngurah Sri Rahayu Gorda, S.H., M.M., M.H., CCD., C.Med., Vice Rector for Human Resource and Finance, as well as Deans and Lecturers from various faculties at Universitas Pendidikan Nasional.
In her opening remarks, Dr. AAA. Ngurah Sri Rahayu Gorda emphasized the importance of a strong understanding of the Four Pillars of Nationality, especially amid the increasingly dynamic developments of the times. The interactive discussion session explored various challenges faced by the younger generation in maintaining national unity and integrity. Critical perspectives and ideas from the students further enriched the dialogue on applying national values in facing globalization.
Through this event, it is hoped that Undiknas students will become agents of change who uphold Pancasila values, preserve unity in diversity, and contribute to building a more advanced and competitive Indonesia.
