Strategic Collaboration Between Undiknas and Asia Exchange: Expanding International Programs for the 2024/2025 Academic Year
Denpasar, August 20th, 2024 – Undiknas University had the opportunity to host Mr. Tuomas Kauppinen, Vice President of Asia Exchange, and Mr. Hannes Borgward, Business Development Manager, for a discussion on the development of international programs for the 2024/2025 academic year. This meeting further strengthens the partnership between Undiknas and Asia Exchange that has been ongoing since 2018, solidifying the bond between the two institutions.
The discussion, held at the Undiknas International Office, was led by Mr. Ida Nyoman Basmantra, Head of the International Office, with support from Ms. Made Sumarningsih, International Partnerships Staff at Undiknas. The dialogue focused on creating new academic opportunities for European students, particularly in the fields of Information Technology and Environmental Engineering. These programs will be available both on-site at Undiknas’s Denpasar campus and through the university’s e-campus platform, offering flexible learning options for international students. Since 2018, the partnership with Asia Exchange has supported several successful programs at Undiknas, significantly contributing to the university’s growth as a global educational institution. This ongoing collaboration has facilitated cultural exchange and brought a diverse group of international students to Bali, enriching the academic environment.
Mr. Kauppinen and Mr. Borgward expressed their enthusiasm for the continued collaboration, emphasizing the mutual benefits of the partnership in fostering academic innovation and global engagement. The proposed programs are designed to provide European students with unique educational experiences, combining cutting-edge technology and environmental sustainability with the rich cultural context of Bali.
“Undiknas is committed to expanding its international footprint and becoming a world-class university. Our long-standing partnership with Asia Exchange aligns perfectly with this vision,” said Mr. Basmantra during the meeting. The collaboration aims not only to attract more international students to Undiknas but also to promote cross-cultural learning and exchange, enhancing the educational experience for all students involved. As Undiknas continues to evolve and adapt to the global educational landscape, this partnership signifies a promising future. The university is optimistic that these new international programs will significantly contribute to its goal of becoming a leading institution in Southeast Asia.
Another important aspect of this collaboration is its close alignment with the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly those related to quality education and partnerships for the goals. The international programs designed in collaboration with Asia Exchange will not only expand educational access for students from various countries but will also promote cross-cultural collaboration and knowledge transfer, which are key elements in global efforts to achieve sustainable development. By focusing on fields such as information technology and environmental engineering, these programs will also support the development of skills relevant to the future, in line with the global agenda to create more inclusive and sustainable societies
