
Undiknas Participates in Bamboo Planting in Blangsinga for Environmental Conservation
Gianyar, February 26, 2025 ā In celebration of the 43rd anniversary of the Higher Education Service Institution (LLDIKTI) Region VIII, the Rector of Universitas Pendidikan Nasional (Undiknas), Prof. Dr. Ir. Nyoman Sri Subawa, S.T., S.Sos., M.M., IPM., ASEAN Eng., participated in a bamboo planting activity held in Blangsinga Village, Blahbatuh, Gianyar.
As the Chairperson of the 43rd Anniversary Committee of LLDIKTI Region VIII, Prof. Nyoman Sri Subawa emphasized the importance of preserving the environment. He stated that conservation efforts like this are concrete actions that must continue to be carried out to maintain ecosystem balance and environmental sustainability.
“Planting bamboo is not merely a symbolic act, but a tangible manifestation of our concern for the environment. Through this activity, we contribute to preserving natural resources that offer significant benefits for the community,” he said.
The bamboo planting event was also attended by the Head of LLDIKTI Region VIII, Dr. I Gusti Lanang Bagus Eratodi, S.T., M.T., the Village Head (Prebekel) of Saba Village and his team, along with all committee members for the LLDIKTI Region VIII anniversary celebration. Bamboo was chosen for its numerous ecological benefits, such as carbon absorption, erosion prevention, and providing habitats for various types of fauna.
Moreover, bamboo holds significant economic value, making it a sustainable resource for surrounding communities. With its rapid growth and high water absorption capacity, bamboo plays a vital role in maintaining environmental balance and reducing the risk of natural disasters such as landslides and floods.
As an educational institution carrying the vision of a Techno Research-preneur University, Undiknas remains committed to contributing to environmental conservation. Participation in this activity is part of Undiknasā efforts to educate its academic community and the public on the importance of nature conservation and sustainable development. It is hoped that the bamboo planting initiative will inspire many parties to care more deeply for the environment and take concrete steps toward preserving nature for a better future.
